Trump’s Claim: US Strikes “Obtained Peace” in Iran-Israel War

Date:

President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites effectively “obtained peace” by ending the 12-day Iran-Israel war. He controversially drew a parallel to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to emphasize the decisive nature of the American action.
Trump argued that the severe consequences faced by Iran, including the US military action, had forced them to abandon their nuclear weapons ambitions. He dismissed intelligence reports that indicated a limited impact of the strikes, maintaining that Iran’s nuclear facilities were “completely destroyed.”
The conflict began with Israel’s bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, driven by concerns about nuclear proliferation. Iran consistently denied these claims, asserting its nuclear program was for peaceful purposes. The 12-day conflict resulted in extensive damage and casualties.
A ceasefire, which Trump reportedly brokered, was in effect. Trump’s remarks frame military intervention as a direct path to diplomatic resolution.
